What’s up, everyone? Tumblr user toramarushou put in a bunch of requests, so I’m breaking them up a little bit. I’ve even got a request schedule set up!

I would have uploaded this track on my own, however, because I love it so much. I love this stage in general from Generations, and I’ve heard a bunch of people say that it’s how Sonic ‘06 was supposed to be like, or at least play like. It starts out with the main riff, and then the drums cut out with just the violins, which is a really nice effect. Ah, there’s a little synth bit that happens right there, and it just gave me a little chill! Then it kicks back in with another violin riff, and then the groove comes back. The groove is really solid throughout this whole thing, ah and I keep getting chills too! All the violin melodies are really smooth and melodic, and the synth pads compliment it very nicely. The synth bass in particular is a nice effect, as it’s not terribly noticeable as a synth (until you hear it by itself during a fill, which is awesome by the way). I like at the final part of the loop, if you listen, there’s still the sax wail in the back of the mix like in the original, which I was so excited for! 

In comparison to the original, and I love the original Crisis City, all four parts of it, this mix seems very…organic, in a way. All the parts flow together, and some of the instrumentation doesn’t seem as overly techy, I guess? I’m not sure how to describe it. The best way I can put it is that this is merely an updated version—2006 to 2011 can be a big jump stylistically, as far as music goes, and everything fits together very nicely. They also took out the last part, the “Tornado” section, which was probably a good move, since it had a different feel from the rest of the track, and the original mix had an awkward transition to it. This whole thing loops nicely, and is one of my favorite tracks off Generations!
